About Film

Inés is a 30-year-old Spanish animation director who is in Ahmedabad to break up with her Indian lover Àmàr. Incapable of dreaming and a little lost, Inés enters a bookstore by chance, where she discovers Sultana's Dream, a novel written in 1905 by Rokeya Hossain which tells about an imaginary country ruled by women. Fascinated by this classic of feminist utopian literature, and by its author, the Muslim writer and activist Begum Rokeya Hossain, Inés embarks on an initiatory journey through India in search of traces of the author and the Country of Women. From this moment on, the story of Inés and that of Rokeya Hossain run parallel.
