Ana, a literature teacher is being accused of misconduct for suggesting students Agnieszka Holland’s Total Eclipse to her 17-year-old students so they can better understand Rimbaud’s work. She has to decide whether to stand up for the values she represents or to withdraw quietly. She starts an absurd struggle to justify herself, but the school’s Principal, Eva slowly withdraws, and this starts to affect good working personal relationships. The local press writes about the case, and the scandal that follows has unforeseeable consequences upon her life, and the life of the student, Victor, whose father makes the complaint.
About Director
Katalin Moldovai was born in Transylvania, Romania in 1982. At the Sapientia Transylvanian Hungarian University in Cluj-Napoca, she finished her BA degree in 2013, in Film-Photo-Media studies. She continued her studies in Hungary at the Budapest Metropolitan University and earned her MA in Television and Film directing. During this period, she directed six short films and a documentary film. Her latest short film As Up to Now (2019) was nominated for a Cinefondation Award at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. Without Air (2023) is her first feature film.
